What To Do After Your Detox

You cleared your body of years of toxic build-up and developed healthy habits during the last 7, 14, or 21 days, and I am so proud of you!

 

Now let’s keep this amazing momentum going! If you’re wondering how to proceed with your diet and lifestyle, you’ve come to the right place! Today I will share 8 ways to keep your toxic burden low and continue on this journey to optimal health. Let’s get started!

 

It’s important to continue with a clean diet, detox lifestyle, and foundational support, but if you REALLY want to move the needle, I recommend diving straight into a parasite cleanse. You’ve cleaned the pipes, and now it’s time to eliminate one of the biggest root causes of disease and imbalance in the body. PARASITES.

 

 1.  Start a parasite cleanse

• Am I experiencing a stuffy nose or itchy skin?

• How are my hot flashes?

• Is my sleep worse?

• Am I experiencing brain fog?

 6.  Add In a One Day Reset as Needed

A One Day Reset is a fasting day. Fasting can be a useful tool to give your digestive system a break. You can use this method whenever you want to clean out your system. I like to do one after I travel and have eaten things I usually don’t eat. I also perform a reset when I feel my gut could benefit from a day off!

 8.  Keep Up Healthy Habits

After your detox, consider sticking with a similar meal plan:
 

Did you love the way a liquid-based breakfast from the detox made you feel? Enjoy a smoothie every morning with berries, greens (or Daily Fruit and Vegetable Blend), your DNS powder, and a little healthy fat. The DNS smoothie is my breakfast every day! This smoothie keeps me satiated and feeling full for hours. It gives me energy and doesn’t make me sleepy and ready to crawl back into bed! 

 

Here's how I make my morning shake!

 

Stick with a vegan-based lunch at least 3 days per week. This can keep your gut happy and support healthy digestion.

 

If you are hungry in between meals, opt for a snack such as:

 

• A green juice

• A handful of raw nuts

• Vegetables and hummus

• A second smoothie

• A healthy wholefood bar

Continue eating paleo-style dinners. The meal plan from the detox was carefully laid out to best support the body.

 

Try to cook most of your meals at home. I enjoy eating out but recommend limiting this to 1-2 times per week.

 

As we get older, our digestion isn’t what it used to be. Space your meals out - eating every 3.5 to 4 hours apart. Give your body time to digest before eating the next meal.

 

Continue dry brushing to maximize lymph drainage.

 

Keep your bowels moving twice daily, so the body releases toxins and doesn’t allow them to build up and cause symptoms.

Continue drinking warm lemon water with sea salt in the morning to move your bowels and support your liver.
